Christmastime Coffee Group
There is that tablecloth again.
For the "coffee ladies" group today, I made gingerbread cake (using this recipe) with whipped cream for topping. It was very dark and rich and had a bit of a kick to it. The whipped cream was a nice touch.
I also set out holiday grapes and a plate of most of the Christmas cookies I've made so far.
And for the savory dish, I made this asparagus tart, using fontina cheese and not gruyere listed in the recipe. For as fancy as it looks, it was the easiest thing I made because it uses store bought puff pastry dough. Everyone enjoyed it. I cut it into little squares and there were only two pieces left over (but not for long). I'll definitely make it again.
