Vintage Waffle Maker!

My parents found this vintage electric waffle maker at a thrift store. I think they bought it because they thought it looked cool, but realized they didn't really need it or have room for it. They passed it along to me. Of course, I don't really have room for kitchen appliances I can't use. Which means I have to make waffles.

I used my favorite pancake and waffle mix, Kodiak Cakes Frontier Flapjack & Waffle Mix. (Available online, here on Amazon. I buy it at Target stores.) I like it because it tastes good, is made with whole grains, and you only need to mix it with water. I also threw in a few blueberries just because.

They turned out really well! There are no settings on this machine. You just plug it in and it heats up. It takes a few minutes to cook and get all crispy on the outside. Most of the waffle irons you see nowadays are nonstick. This one wasn't, so I gave it a no-stick vegetable oil spray before each waffle. They came right out.
