Partridge Pea Patch

A little worried that I was missing partridge pea blooms, I headed down a remote dirt road to check out my favorite patch.

No need to worry, there's just as much partridge pea as last year, and it's not blooming yet.

This is only a section of the huge patch of partridge pea! It's partridge pea paradise.

 Also found on that road: daisy fleabane.

A little bit of horse nettle.

A lot of prairie roses, way beyond blooming.

Two dogs, who basically became tick busses. Busses for bringing ticks into my house.

And this. I think this is in the mint family but I haven't been able to be sure of anything more specific than that.
