Coffee Ladies
We haven't picked out curtains yet, which is the reason for paper taped over the window. |
The very first time Jonathan and I visited this place before moving here, we were invited to "coffee ladies" to meet a group of women we would need to know. Most of the coffee ladies are members of one or other of Jonathan's churches, but some are not. There are regulars and some who come only occasionally. It's open to anyone, and not really just women, but it's generally only women who come. Probably because people started calling it coffee ladies.
It meets on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. Except when it doesn't. Sometimes no one volunteers to host it, or too many people are busy or gone on vacation.
Today Jonathan and I hosted for the first time. We're lucky to have the big table handed down from my parents, which has two extra leaves. We comfortably set places for 10 people and 9 came, which is a good turnout.
Not pictured: spinach, asparagus, and feta quiche.
Tea, mandarin segments, oatmeal and shortbread cookies. |
Table cloths and paper napkins borrowed from/given by my mom. |
Apple-pie cake, holiday seedless grapes. |
