Return to Mahogany Road
It's been awhile since I've gone walking regularly on Mahogany Road. We've taken the dogs a few times in the last week or so, but today I went alone because it rained this morning and I didn't want them to get muddy.
There is a lot of brown but a few things are beginning to grow. I'll have my eye out for the early spring wildflowers, such as the pasque flower and prairie smoke. I'll probably need to go to a proper prairie area to find them, but I could always be surprised.
When the photo below was taken, it was sprinkling even though the sun was quite bright.

I discovered that there is a little farm in my town called Botna Burrow (what a cute name) that offers CSAs. They also happen to have an interest in native plants, which I think is wonderful! Speaking of, I have ordered some plants from Prairie Moon Nursery that will arrive in a handful of weeks, so I will be starting my own little native plant garden. Wish me luck because I know next to nothing about gardening. I'm more of a plant and garden appreciator. The things that are growing in my garden (a plethora of irises and some mystery plants) have nothing to do with me at all.
