Pinterest Wins
This week I tried two recipes I discovered on Pinterest. Sometimes the things you find on Pinterest are destined to be fails. But I was quite pleased with these and will definitely make again.
The first Pin lead me to the recipe on this website: Dashing Dish. "Mini Deep Dish Pizzas" -- super easy, good as a snack or meal. The original uses mini pepperoni, but I left those off since I'm vegetarian. Mmmm.
The second, which we had for dinner tonight, was Vegan Potato Curry from For the Love of Food. It's surprisingly simple aside from some veggie prep. The hardest part is tracking down the spices--it calls for curry powder (found some at Target) and garam masala, which I happened to already have. Garam masala is an Indian spice blend and I purchased it at World Market. I imagine that Whole Foods probably carries it, but for convenience I might order some from Amazon next time I need it. The dish is a little spicy but the coconut milk adds a bit of sweetness to it.
Both Jonathan and I loved these so I'm declaring them Wins.

Awesome! It's always nice when Pinterest works in your favor.
ReplyDeleteI usually make my own garam masala. A lot of recipes for Indian food that I've used will gave a variation of it within the recipe. Otherwise, I go off of this recipe at allrecipes that includes ingredients that you can get in the spice aisle at hy-vee. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/easy-garam-masala/
That's awesome! I have all of those ingredients. Thank you!
