What's for dinner?

Grilling makes everything better, doesn't it? We were given sweet corn by a parishioner, and it seemed like an opportune time to haul out the grill for the first time since we moved.

We also grilled asparagus.



Served with some garlic herb butter that I whipped up for the corn, plus a few pita crackers and hummus. A slightly odd combination perhaps, but delicious indeed.


And finally, dessert. Inspired by strawberry short cake, but without the strawberries. I made Mark Bittman's cream scones from How to Cook Everything. I added a teaspoon of cinnamon for extra yumminess. Served with whipped cream and blueberries and raspberries. It was certainly good, but it was missing something, and that's the "sauce" you get from when you add sugar to the strawberries beforehand and let them get juicy.
